I’m an unabashed, out-in-the-open, giant monster-flick lover. I’ve got something to chew on for the next few months now.
First unveiled in the release of this summer’s Transformers, the trailer to what appears to be a new monster flick by JJ Abrams (of “Alias” TV show fame) is slated to be released January 18th, 2008. The trailer was suitably clever and had no title. There is so much buzz (Movieforums.com and here and here) generated by this release, there are whole websites and forum strings thriving on buzz-worthy information dropped by the studio or rumor-mongers or both.
IMDb lists the project as officially unnamed, with a fake working title of “Cloverfield.”
For fun, go to www.1-18-08.com and leave the site up for a bit. I dare you.

Interesting. So, as an unabashed monster movie fan, have you seen the Korean flick The Host? It’s in my Netflix cue. I can’t wait to see it…and this one as well.
No, I haven’t seen The Host. It looks pretty sweet though- interesting creature. It looks like a tadpole on a heavy dose of Strontium 90. I’m gonna try and check it out at my video store, though it might be a tough find, I fear. Let me know when you see it and thanks for pointing it out to me.
