Well, not really. But it’s somewhat of an economical equivalent.
The New York Times reported last week that some over-zealous medical workers not only clamored to see the star and his girlfriend while hospitalized after their September 21 motorcycle accident, some even snooped through Clooney’s medical records. One doesn’t need any imaging tools- magnetic resonance or otherwise- to have seen that one coming.
It appears that we really only knew of the accident perhaps because of the busybodies. Clooney had not planned on releasing a statement about it, according to Clooney’s spokesman. Naturally, he was quite surprised when an email from a pop-culture magazine noted Clooney’s whereabouts and the nature of his injuries.Even much-ballyhooed sexiest-guy-types need their medical privacies. Says Clooney:
“While I very much believe in a patient’s right to privacy, I would hope that this could be settled without suspending medical workers.â€
Nevertheless, 27 hospital employees have been suspended.
