Never Back Down, written by Chris Hauty and directed by Jeff Wadlow, involves a high school fight club-esque scenario. Starring Djimon Hounsou and Sean Faris. Horton Hears a Who, starring the immensely funny Jim Carrey and Steve Carell in this animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic. Funny Games, U.S., a remake (you don’t say?!) of the Austrian horror film by the same name (sans the “U.S.”). Both are written and directed by Michael Haneke, and features a home invasion and the subsequent, shall we say “games”, which ensue. Starring new mom Naomi Watts and Tim Roth. Doomsday, yet another futuristic the-sky-is-falling story; this time at the hands of a lethal disease. Written and directed by Neil Marshall of The Descent and Dog Soldiers fame.
