Harrison Ford is still HOT HOT HOT!!

Fresh home from watching “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, I have to say, as I was worried that Ford wouldn’t be as effective an Indiana Jones as he was 19 years ago (OMG 19 years already!?!  Wow, I feel OLD….of course I’m not as old as Ford!!); however, such was not the case.

While there is a plethora of bad reviews, I was, surprisingly, completely entertained (except for the 10 minutes of SPOILER ALERT Spielberg’s “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” leftovers.  Frankly, the whole alien theoretical slant does not belong in this franchise.)

The addition of Shia LeBeouf was refreshing and it was nice to see Karen Allen again.  Cate Blanchett and John Hurt looked as though they were, also, having fun in the movie; although Blanchett’s character’s wig reminded me too much of Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Velma from “Chicago” and I half-expected a Russian-infused rendition of “All that Jazz” at some point in the film.

The script contained the requisite blend of humor, sarcasm, and attempts at historical fact.  John Williams’ score was just as enjoyable now as it was 20+ years ago (and, for the record, as all of his scores are.)  The use of CGI seemed a little heavier than past films, but, to me, did not detract from the experience as a whole.

All in all, I had fun…which is what movies are ultimately for anyway, aren’t they?!?

(Yeah, he’s still got it!)
