Final Destinations

After rereading our earlier post on Miss Congeniality, Movie_Maven_Jr. wanted to collaborate, once again, on another blog, so after carefully perusing our extensive movie collection, we agreed upon the “Final Destination” trilogy (soon to be a…um…fourlogy? with the 4th installment due 21 August 2009.)

Which was your favorite?

Ow, my mouth hurts. What??

Which “Final Destination” was your favorite? I loved the 3rd one, particularly the tanning bed scene. Kinda makes me not want to visit the salon again though.

Well, as long as there’s not a stupid Russian guy with surfer hair who put a tube of sunscreen in the door as a doorstop, then I guess you’re safe. I liked them all, but the end of the 2nd one when (SPOILER ALERT) the kid’s arm lands on the picnic table.

I loved the airbag scene in the 2nd one too.

Hahaha. That was funny too. And the dentist scene where the kid was (SPOILER ALERT) choking on the fish thing.

The first one was original, but the sequels are better because we know that people are going to die, but how they are going to die is the fun part. Not to sound macabre or anything. Kind of similar to the “Saw” series where the first one was very original, and now we flock to the theatre to see how gory the subsequent traps will be. Not to sound macabre or anything, LOL.

Like the garbage disposal in the 2nd one. You’re just like, OMG, not the disposal!! Don’t put your hand in the sink!! And that part in the first movie, where, whats-his-name, um, Tod, like, trips, and is being strangulated by that thing (you mean the clothesline in the bathtub??) and his eyes kinda, like, pop and get red like the Furbys in the microwave on youtube. But just the popping part, cuz they, like, don’t turn red.

You do have to admit the roller coaster wreck was awesome though.

Yes, I would love to see that in IMAX or in 3D, but then you might get hit in the eye by a camera and that would hurt.

The 4th one is going to be in 3-D.

IT IS?!?! Like, LE GASP and OMG!!!

You didn’t know that?

Yes I did. I just had a momentary lapse of memory.

LOL, you’re too young for that!

Yeah, mom, I’m not OLD like you are. Hahahahaha!

Well, then, I guess you’ll have to go see the 4th one with some friends instead of with me and Mr._Movie_Maven. And that goes for “Saw V” too.

Final Destination 3 was good but the first one was easily the best. The story developed and it was the most creative.

The second FD was just OK. The part with Ali Larder getting fried in the Mental Hospital was the best part.
