Well, the new James Bond flick, ‘Quantum of Solace’ has opened to top the box office, followed by ‘High School Musical 3′; neither of which I care to see.  However, my 8 year old daughter, Movie_Maven_Jr_Jr LOVED it!  She also liked ‘Madagascar II’.  Actually Mr_Movie_Maven and Movie_Maven_Jr liked ‘Madagascar II’ as well.  I, on the other hand, was working so didn’t get to go; however, I really am sick to death of animated and live action talking animals.  Needless to say, ‘Bolt’ is not on my list whatsoever, despite being the slang name of my beloved San Diego Chargers.

I will be seeing ‘Twilight’ (with Movie_Maven_Jr, of course) and, subsequently, she will be providing the review at a later date.

‘Transporter 3′ is coming next weekend; however, as I did not see 1 or 2, I fear I might get lost in the plot.

Another movie which has NOT piqued my interest is ‘Australia.’  I do find it entertaining that the two leads are actually Australian.  Wow, what a concept.  Also entertaining was perennial bad boy Russell Crowe’s comment for passing on the project.  Apparently, the salary was too low, prompting him to say, “I don’t do charity work for major studios.”  Salary for ‘Gladiator’ - $5 million; Salary for ‘A Beautiful Mind’ - $15 million; Salary for ‘Master and Commander’ - $20 million; An ego larger than Australia - priceless.

Oh, lookie here, another comedy with Vince Vaughn.  Can anyone say “typecasting”??  Come to think of it, Reese Witherspoon has been getting typecast lately as well.  Despite Tim McGraw being in the film, I’ll pass on ‘Four Christmases.’

Leave it to the timing of the ever-controversial Gus Van Sant, releasing ‘Milk’ this month, starring Sean Penn as Harvey Milk, San Francisco’s first openly gay city superviser (1977.)  Might be interesting as a Pay-per-view purchase (hey come on, I’m not rich!!); however, I am not a huge Sean Penn fan (mostly due to his political views.)

That’s really about it for now.  Nothing too exciting in my opinion.
