He did it again. Mr_Movie_Maven bribed me to see the film with him (Movie_Maven_Jr already saw it). After all, I did hear that Hugh Jackman was, shall we say, ’scantily clad’, during part of it and I am a big fan of his anyway. While not a fan of the X-Men trilogy, per se, I have to say that this film exceeded my rather low expectations. There was some really funny dialogue and the ultra-buff Jackman had plenty of options to show off his wares. The action was actionful and Harry Gregson-Williams’ score was great. Gavin Hood’s direction was beyond competent and good special effects and some incredible editing finished it off. By the way, Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson/Deadpool) could give Vin Diesel a run for his money. I didn’t even recognize him, I was so enamored with his awesome arms. That Scarlett Johansson is one lucky lady!! Make sure you stay through the extremely long credits though. There is additional footage and, according to the guy sitting next to us, there are 2 alternatives.
